MATTOON -- Mattoon captured its own girls track invitational Tuesday with 118 points followed by Charleston 82, Centralia 60, Teutopolis 54, Effingham St. Anthony 53, Mount Zion 49, Vandalia 36, Effingham 33, Clinton 26, Taylorville 26 and Salem 21.

St. Anthony's Sarah Carr captured the 800 run with a time of 2:27 minutes while teammate Anna Sophia Keller took the 1600 in 4:54.92. Kristin Slaughter claimed the pole vault at 12 feet.

The Bulldogs also finished first in the 1600 relay with a time of 4:10.90. Team members were Abby Weis, Carr, Keller and Kr. Slaughter.

T-town nabbed first in the 3200 relay with a time of 10:05.97. Team members were Kara Weichman, Morgan Mette, Savannah Grimes and Rebecca Habing.

Effingham's top finishers were Kourtney Cordes second in the 3200 in 12:27.10 and Camryn Heuerman second in the 100 hurdles in 17.36.

At Sullivan

Shelbyville and Pana were team champions in the Tri-County Boys and Girls Track Invitationals Tuesday.

In the boys meet, Shelbyville was the winner with 141 points followed by Pana 118.5, Sullivan-Okaw Valley 84, Arcola 57, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 55.5, Beecher City-Cowden-Herrick 36.5, Central A&M 35, Neoga 26.5 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 4.

Neoga's Fletcher was the lone area participant who finshed first. Fletcher won the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 1 3/4 inches.

In the girls meet, Pana was the team champion with 126.5 points followed by Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 98, Central A&M 92, Neoga 62, Shelbyville 61, Sullivan/Okaw Valley 50.5, Cowden-Herrck/Beecher City 40, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 16 and Arcola.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Robertson took several top three finishes. She finished second in the 300 hurdles in 51.85 seconds and second in the triple jump at 33-5 and third in the long jump at 15-9.

Neoga had three second-place finishes. The 3200 relay team took second in 11:18.89, Kepp was second in the 100 hurdles in 17.23 and Walk finished second in the 3200 in 13:07.27.
