T-town, EHS, Altamont Claim Track Wins

Teutopolis claimed the girls meet while Effingham won the boys meet as the Hearts hosted triangular track meets Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won with 78 points followed by Effingham 64 and Effingham St. Anthony 43.

T-town claimed nine victories in the meet. The 400 relay team won in 52.44 seconds while the 800 relay team crossed the finish line in 1:51.97 minutes.

Grimes was a three-event winner, taking the triple jump at 31 feet, 7 1/2 inches, the 1600 in 5:54.93 and the long jump at 14-8. Weichman claimed the 400 in 1:02.37 and Mette claimed the 200 in 28.12. Bushur took the shot with a throw of 37-8 1/2. Wessel was a winner in the high jump at 4-8.

Slaughter was a double event winner for the Bulldogs, taking the 100 in 13.60 and the pole vault at 11-9.

In the boys meet, Effingham won with 86 points followed by Teutopolis 55 and St. Anthony 42.

The Hearts won the 3200 relay in 9:15.00, the 400 relay in 47.34, the 800 relay in 1:36.08 and the 1600 in 3:46.83.

Individually, the Hearts had six victories. Hill nabbed two of those, the 100 in 11.61 and the long jump at 19-0. Bushue claimed the 100 hurdles in 18.16 while Donaldson won the 800 in 2:09.93. Miller was a winner in the triple jump at 38-9 1/2. Line captured the high jump at 6-0.

Nuxoll and Kinkelaar took two wins for the Bulldogs. Nuxoll won the 400 in 53.40 and the 200 in 24.34. Kinkelaar claimed the shot at 50-9 and the discus at 174-4.

 At Altamont

Altamont picked up the girls meet victory with 97 points followed by Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 53, St. Elmo/Brownstown 40, Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 38 and Patoka 20.

The Indians captured the 1600 relay in 5:54.18 minutes.

Wolff claimed the shot with a throw of 32-11 and the discus at 105-10. Hoene won the 300 hurdles in 26.98. Jackman picked up the high jump at 5 feet.

St. Elmo/Brownstown's Wilhour was a triple event winner. Wilhour took the hurdles in 16.85 seconds, the 400 in 1:04.34 and the long jump at 14-10 1/2.

Smith was also a triple event winner for Windsor/Stew-Stras. Smith won the 100 in 13.18 and the 200 in 28.32. She also claimed the triple jump at 34-3 1/2.

In the boys meet, Altamont won with 199 points followed by Windsor/Stew-Stras 66, St. Elmo/Brownstown 48, Patoka 43 and Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 39.

The Indians took the 400 relay in 48.70, the 800 in 1:44.15 and the 1600 in 3:59.76.

Flores picked up three victories taking the 3200 in 11:36.37, the 800 in 2:07.26 and the 1600 in 5:19.5. Stevenson won the 110 hurdles in 15.24 and the 300 hurdles in 40.25. He also captured the long jump at 21-2.

Brown took the discus at 130-6 and the shot at 40-2. Pomo claimed the 100 in 11.45 and the 200. Stone took the 400 in 55.66 and the triple jump at 38-8.

Stephens won the high jump at 6-2 while Moore took the pole vault at 11-0 for the Indians.
