Seven Millikin athletes were among the large field of athletes competing in the Dr. Keeler Last Chance Qualifier hosted by North Central College on May 13 in Naperville, Illinois.

No Millikin runners were able to post a time fastest enough to put them among the field for this month’s NCAA Division III National Championships.

R.J. O’Connor (Trinity, Florida, Gulf H.S.) finished in fifth place in the 200 Meters in a time of 22.44 seconds.  Erin Owens (Bloomington, H.S.) was eighth in the Women’s 200 Meters in 26.09 seconds.

Michaela Ponstein (Oswego, H.S.) ran a personal best in the 400 Meters finishing in eighth place.  Her time of 59.68 seconds was fifth all-time at Millikin.

Other top performers for Millikin were Jordan McCall (Illiopolis, Sangamon Valley H.S.) finishing in 11th in the Men’s 400 Meters in 49.60 and Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) who was 11th in the Women’s 800 Meters in 2:14.64.  Neither time was faster than the athlete’s season best times posted last week at the CCIW Championships.

Millikin athletes will have one more chance to improve their times at North Central’s Gregory Qualifier on May 20.
