Keller Nabs Two Victories at Indoor Girls Track Invitational

CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School's Anna Sophia Keller captured two victories at the Eastern Illinois University Indoor Girls Track Meet Saturday.

Keller claimed the 800 run with a time of 2:16.24 minutes. She then took the 1600 with a time of 4:57.68.

St. Anthony finished sixth overall as a team with 28 points. Winning the meet was St. Joseph-Ogden with 71 followed by Newton 48, Pleasant Plains 40, Urbana University 34, Salt Fork 34, St. Anthony, Warrensburg-Latham 22, Christopher 21.5, Argenta-Oreana 21, Teutopolis 18.5, Moweaqua Central A&M 18, Carlinville 16, Tremont 14, Fairfield 14, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 13, Casey-Westfield 12, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 12, Springfield Lutheran 12, New Berlin 12, Bloomington Central Catholic 10, Petersburg PORTA 8, Champaign St. Thomas More 8, Tri-Point 7, Lowpoint Washburn 6.5, Fisher 6, Patoka 5, Anna-Jonesboro 4, Gillespie 4, Danville Schlarman 4, Williamsville 4, Shelbyville 4, Marshall 4, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 4, Vandalia 3.5, Tuscola 2, Neoga 1 and Oakwood 1.

Newton's McKendra Barthelme was a first place finisher in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 1 inch. She also had a second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.11 seconds. Alex Haarman took second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.32 seconds.

Newton captured a first place finish in the 800 relay with a time of 1:51.84 minutes. The Eagles took second in the 1600 relay in 4:21.99.

Teutopolis had a top five finish with a fourth place in the 3200 relay in 10:53.25.

Effingham St. Anthony's Kristin Slaughter took second in the pole vault with a vault of 11 feet.
