Millikin senior Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) set a new Millikin record in the 800 Meters at the Point Qualifier hosted by the University of Wisconsin Stevens Points on March 5 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Michl finished fourth in the event in a Big Blue record time of 2:15.10.  Michl’s time improved her standings nationally with her performance placing her in the Top 30 in NCAA Division III this season.  However, Michl’s was not fastest enough to qualify her for next week’s NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

In a Last Chance Meet at Carthage College on March 4, Michl won the 800 Meters in 2:19.43 while Sarah Bradley (Decatur, MacArthur H.S.) finished in second place in the 1 Mile Run.  Bradley was the top collegiate runner in a time of 5:11.78.

In the men’s competition, Jordan McCall (Illiopolis, Sangamon Valley H.S.) was third in the 400 Meters in 51.25.  Jacob Segrest (Brighton, Southwestern H.S.) was seventh in the 55 Meters in 6.73 seconds and eighth in the Long Jump at 6.76 meters (22-2.25).
