Jamie Michels Claims Places For Millikin Track Squad

The Millikin men's and women's track and field team took part in the 2015 Augustana College Viking Olympics Saturday  in Rock Island, Illinois.  The Millikin men finished in ninth place while the Big Blue women were 11th.

Millikin men were third in the 4x100 Relay in 42.99 seconds with Richard Long (St. Louis, Missouri, Webster Groves H.S.), Paul Selman (Glen Ellyn, Glenbard West H.S.), Bem Williams (Decatur, Maroa Forsyth H.S.) and Jacob Segrest (Brighton, Southwestern H.S.) running legs.

The Big Blue 4x400 Relay with fifth with a time of 3:24.89 with Williams, Selman, Jordan McCall (Illiopolis, Sangamon Valley H.S.) and Trevor Crum (Heyworth, H.S.) all running.

Jesse Blair (Niantic, Sangamon Valley H.S.) was third in the Javelin with a throw of 47.40 meters (155-06).

Williams was seventh in the 200 Meters in 22.99 seconds.

In the women's competition, Millikin was second in the 4x100 Relay in 50.37 with Jennifer Parker (Libertyville, Vernon Hills H.S.), Jasharra Clark (Lombard, Glenbard West H.S.), Michaela Ponstein (Oswego, H.S.) and Uriah Walker (Lansing, Thornton Fractional South H.S.) running legs.

The Big Blue were second in the Women's 4x400 Relay in 4:06.15 with Ponstein, Walker, Clark and Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.).

Clark was fourth in the 200 Meters in 26.34 seconds.

Sami Battle (Odell, Pontiac H.S.) was fifth in the High Jump at 1.50 meters.

Walker was sixth in the 100 Meters in 13.45.

Michl was seventh in the 800 Meters in 2:24.40 and seventh in the 1500 Meter Run in 5:04.31.

Millikin will compete at St. Louis University April 10-11.
