St. Anthony Wins Girls Track Meet

Effingham St. Anthony Higih School claimed a girls track meet victory over Shelbyville Tuesday while the boys fell to the Rams.

In the girls meet, the Bulldogs tallied 62 points while Shelbyville had 57. The 400 relay team won in 54.63 seconds and the 800 relay in 2:00.2 minutes.

Slaughter captured three wins taking the 100 in 13.45 seconds, the 400 in 1:06.3 minutes and the 200 in 28.34. Wendt won the triple jump at 31 feet, and the long jump. S. Wortman won the pole vault at 8 feet while R. Wortman claimed the 800 in 3:07.3. Falconburg was a winner in the 3200 in 13:36.6.

In the boys meet, Shelbyville won with 87 points while St. Anthony had 43. The Bulldogs had six first place finishes in the meet. Sager won the 300 hurdles in 47.25 seconds. Gardewine claimed the 1600 in 4:46.8. Shadwell won the 200 in 24.1 and Wortman claimed the pole vault at 12 feet.

The 400 relay team won in 51.99 and the 1600 relay team won in 4:46.3.
