Chatham Glenwood Claims Title, EHS Seventh at Titan Invite

Effingham finished seventh in the Titan Tennis Invitational Saturday with two points. Winning was Chatham Glenwood with 22 points followed by Quincy Notre Dame 16, Mascoutah 12, Jacksonville 11, Rochester 6 1/2, Lincoln 4 1/2, Effingham 2 and Springfield Southeast 0.

In the No. 1 doubles, Bannister and Allen lost 6-1, 6-0 to Tracy/Moore of Quincy Notre Dame. The pair then fell to Joseph/Vakleve of Lincoln 6-3, 6-1.

In the No. 2 doubles, Sims and Workman lost to McGiles/Deal of Jacksonville 6-0, 6-2. The pair then fell to Perry/Nuding of Rochester 6-0, 6-0.

In the No. 1 singles, Emma Kull defeated Taylor Heady of Jacksonville 6-3, 6-0 then fell to Aliyah Price of Mascoutah 7-5, 6-3. Kull dropped into the third place match and fell to Kena Bere of Lincoln 6-4, 10-6.

In the No. 2 singles, Savannah Blake lost to Melanie Schelfphorst of Quincy Notre Dame 6-0, 6-0. Blake then lost to Emma Wieland of Mascoutah 6-0, 6-0.
