One Local Tennis Player Remaining at Boys State Meet

One local player is still alive at the High School Boys State Tennis Meet in Chicagoland after the first day of play Thursday.

St. Anthony senior Cole Buehnerkemper won his first match 6-2, 6-2, but then lost his second round match 6-1, 6-0 to fall into the consolation bracket.

Other local players were eliminated in their first two matches.  In singles, Effingham junior Aaron Meyers lost his first round match 6-0, 6-0 and then lost his second round match 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles, Effingham's duo of juniors Isaac Foreman and Jason Wohltman lost their first round match 6-3, 6-2 and then lost their second round match 7-5, 6-4.

The EHS duo of junior Parth Maheshwari and freshman Jared Minor lost their first round match 6-2, 6-0 and then lost their second round match 5-7, 7-5, 6-4.

The tournament will continue Friday and conclude on Saturday throughout the Chicagoland area.
