Bulldogs Edge Wooden Shoes In Tennis

Effingham St. Anthony edged Teutopolis 5-4 in high school tennis competition Thursday.

The Bulldogs claimed four of the six singles matches. Manaye Mossman was a winner at No. 1, 6-4, 6-0 while Evan Mossman took the second spot, 6-3, 6-0. Aiden Tegeler won at No. 3, 6-3, 6-3 and Roberto Valdes claimed the No. 6 position in a hard-fought win over Myles Stortzum, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 10-6.

T-town claimed the No. 4 singles match as Ethan Thoele won 6-1, 6-2 and at No. 5 as Carter Davidson claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win.

In doubles play, the Wooden Shoes' Kolten Tabbert and Thoele combined to win, 8-6. Carter Davidson and Oliver Lee finished out with an 8-2 win at No. 3.

But the Bulldogs took the No. 2 spot as E. Mossman and M. Mossman were winners 8-0 for the match.

No. 6 -- Roberto Valdes (SA) defeated Myles Stortzum (TT), 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 10-6

Doubles

No. 1 -- Tabbert-Thoele (TT) defeated Tegeler-Henry Kemme (SA), 8-6

No. 2 -- E. Mossman-M. Mossman (SA) defeated J. Habing-C. Habing (TT), 8-0

No. 3 -- Davidson-Oliver Lee (TT) defeated Valdes-Herzing (SA), 8-2
