St. Anthony Downs EHS, T-town Drops Loss In Tennis Action

Effingham St. Anthony handed Effingham a 7-2 loss in high school tennis action Thursday.

The Bulldogs tallied five of six singles victories and won two of the three doubles matches.

Evan Mossman was a winner in No. 2 singles play, 6-2, 6-0. Aiden Tegeler claimed the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-1.

Adam Rudibaugh and Henry Kemme claimed the next two singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 counts. Isaac McDonald was a winner at No. 6, 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles play, Kemme and McDonald combined to win 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 while Matt Herzing and Roberto Valdes won at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2.

Effingham's two victories were at No. 1 singles as Thad Dillow won 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 and at No. 1 doubles as Dillow and Blayne Pals combined to win 7-6 (1), 6-7 (4), 10-6.

At St. Anthony

No. 1 -- Thad Dillow (E) defeated Manaye Mossman (SA), 6-1, 4-6, 10-5

No. 2 -- Evan Mossman (SA) defeated Blayne Pals (E), 6-2, 6-0

No. 3 -- Aiden Tegeler (SA) defeated Tyler Nohren (E), 6-0, 6-1

No. 4 -- Adam Rudibaugh (SA) defeated Presotn SIner (E), 6-0, 6-0

No. 5 -- Henry Kemme (SA) defeated Evan Pryor (E), 6-0, 6-0

No. 6 -- Isaac McDonald (SA) defeated Ross Schaefer (E), 6-0, 6-1

Doubles

No. 1 -- Dillow-Pals (E) defeated Tegeler-Rudibaugh (SA), 7-6 (1), 6-7 (4), 10-6

No. 2 -- Kemme-McDonald (SA) defeated Nohren-Siner (E), 6-2, 6-1

No. 3 -- Matt Herzing-Roberto Valdes (SA) defeated Pryor-Schaefer (E), 6-3, 6-2

 

At Teutopolis

Mattoon claimed a 6-3 victory over Teutopolis in Thursday tennis competition.

Two points for the Wooden Shoes came at the No. 3 singles match as Colin Habing was a 7-6, 6-1 winner and Oliver Lee claimed the No. 6 spot, 7-6, 6-7, 1-0 (7).

The other point came in the No. 2 doubles match as C. Habing and Josh Habing combined to win 6-1, 6-2.

At Teutopolis

No. 2 -- Bahney (M) defeated Josh Habing (TT), 6-4, 6-0

No. 5 -- Pullen (M) defeated Hayden Jansen (TT), 6-2, 6-3

Doubles
