St. Anthony, T-town Pick Up Tennis Victories

Effingham St. Anthony gave up only one point in downing Mattoon, 8-1 in high school tennis Thursday.

The Bulldogs swept through the doubles play. Manaye Mossman and Aiden Tegeler tallied 6-1, 6-3 victories at the No. 1 spot. Adam Rudibaugh and Evan Mossman switched those point totals to a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Henry Kemme and Isaac McDonald were 6-1, 6-2 winners at No. 3.

M. Mossman picked up another victory, this time in singles play by a 6-3, 6-2 count. Tegeler was a winner at No. 3, 6-2, 6-0.

Rudibaugh held his opponent scoreless at No. 4, 6-0, 6-0.

McDonald took the victory at No. 5. He fell in the opening set 6-1 but came back with a 6-4 victory then won the match 11-9.

Roberto Valdes finished out the singles wins at No. 6, 6-0, 6-3.

At St. Anthony

Singles

No. 1 -- Manaye Mossman (SA) defeated Tejas Zala (M), 6-3, 6-2

No. 2 -- Ethan Bahenry (M) defeated Evan Mossman (SA), 3-6, 6-0, 10-7

No. 3 -- Aiden Tegler (SA) defeated Ty Eastin (M), 6-2, 6-0

No. 4 -- Adam Rudibaugh (SA) defeated Josiah Donaldson (M), 6-0, 6-0

No. 5 -- Isaac McDonald (SA) defeated Will Pullen (M), 1-6, 6-4, 11-9

No. 6 -- Roberto Valdes (SA) defeated Noah Lange (M), 6-0, 6-3

Doubles

No. 1 -- M. Mossman-Tegeler (SA)  defeated Zala-Bahney (M), 6-1, 6-3

No. 2 -- Rudibaugh-E. Mossman (SA) defeated Eastin-Donaldson (M), 6-3, 6-1

No. 3 -- Kemme-McDonald (SA) defeated Pullen-Lange (M), 6-1, 6-2

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis blanked Paris by a 9-0 tally Thursday.

Kolten Tabbert had a tough go at the No. 1 singles spot but pulled out the win. He fell in the opening set 6-1 but came back with a 6-1 count then 1-0 (10-7).

Ethan Thoele was a 6-3, 7-5 winner followed by Josh Habing 6-1, 6-2. Colin Habing won 6-3, 6-4 and Carter Davidson took a 6-1, 6-1 match. Hayden Jansen also had a tough battle. Jansen dropped the first set 6-2 but came back 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) for the victory.

In doubles play, Tabbert and Thoele combined to win 6-4, 7-5. J. Habing and C. Habing were 6-2, 6-3 winners.

Oliver Lee and Kendall Schmidt combined to win 6-2, 6-2.

At Teutopolis
