Wooden Shoes Claim Opening Tennis Win

CHARLESTON -- Teutopolis High School blanked Charleston in its season-opening tennis match Monday, 9-0.

In singles play, the Wooden Shoes had four scores blanking the Trojans. Macy Probst opened at No. 1 with 6-0, 6-0 counts while Isabelle Hemmen had 6-0, 5-0 romps at No. 3. Kenna Koester took No. 5 and Grace Schumacher No. 6, both at 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Grace Hoene won at No. 2 while Carley Habing took No. 4, both at 6-1, 6-0 scores.

In doubles play, Probst and I. Hemmen were 6-1, 6-0 winners. Lexi Will and Olivia Hemmen won 6-2, 6-2. The No. 3 spot went to Julian Hemmen and Lauren Heuerman, 6-3, 6-0.
