Australian Open organizers are being criticized after some players have been struggling in their qualifying matches for the tournament that starts January 20 because of the severe heat and smoky air from the bushfires raging in Australia. Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic had to quit her match Monday after she collapsed with a coughing fit. Canadian Eugenie Bouchard and Australian Bernard Tomic had to call medical timeouts because of problems from smoke inhalation.
