Area Players Still Alive at State Tennis Tourney

Effingham St. Anthony High School's Emilee Mossman suffered her first loss at the Class 1A State Tennis Tournament Friday.

Mossman fell to Emma Davis of New Lenox Providence Catholic, 6-4, 7-6 (6). That was her first loss after three victories Thursday. She will now take on Savannah Webb of Richmond-Burton at Palatine in consolation quarterfinals.

Allison Kowalke and Averee Greene have yet to continue play today after picking up three wins Thursday. They are set to face Alyssa Batcheler and Alice Mihas of Chicago Latin at Buffalo Grove.

Teutopolis High School's Alli Brumleve and Macy Probst picked up their first loss of the tournament after three wins Thursday. They fell to Isabella Kellemeier and Emilee Pak of Chicago University, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. The pair drop into the consolation quarterfinals at Arlington Heights Hersey.

Newton's Jacelyn Street won twice and lost once Thursday. Street picked up a third victory Friday by downing Taylor Fleming of Highland, 6-1, 6-2. But Street exited the tournament after suffering a loss to Sanskriti Sarav of Chicago University, 6-1, 6-2.
