Several Local Players Headed to 2019 State Tourney Play

Several local players advanced to state tournament girls play this weekend after finding success at the St. Anthony Tennis Sectional.

Senior Emilee Mossman of St. Anthony won the singles play. The other singles players advancing are senior Jacelyn Street of Newton, senior Diana Mossman of Teutopolis and senior Rachel Thomas of Charleston.

Senior Alli Brumleve and sophomore Macy Probst won the doubles competition and will be headed to State. The other advancing doubles players are junior Allison Kowalke and senior Averee Greene of St. Anthony, junior Tess Huene and junior Emily Stortzum of Mattoon, and junior Eva Richardson and junior Gwendalyn Eckerty of Casey-Westfield.

State tournament play will begin Thursday and will continue through Saturday throughout Chicagoland.
