Casey-Westfield claimed a 6-3 tennis victory over Effingham in action Thursday.

The Hearts tallied all three points in singles play. Riley Arend won at No. 2, 6-2, 7-6 (5). Eden Wendling took the No. 5 spot, 6-1, 6-0. Chloe Aden finished out the scoring at No. 6 by winning 7-6 (4), 7-5.

"The girls had a solid match against Casey-Westfield," said EHS Coach Erik Williamson. "I thought we would match up well against this team and we had close matches all around. Three of the nine matches went to a third set tiebreaker.

"I have to give credit to a solid Casey team but this one feels like it slipped right through our fingers. Everyone played solid which is vital heading into the doubles half of the Apollo Tournament tomorrow morning."
