Wooden Shoes Nab Mount Vernon Doubles Crown

MOUNT VERNON -- Teutopolis High School competed in the Mount Vernon Doubles Tennis Tournament Saturday and claimed the title with a 9-0 mark followed by Marion 1, Mount Vernon 0 and Salem 0.

The No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams all placed first in their flights. Alli Brumleve and Macy Probst, the No. 1 team, had a perfect day of 42-0 against their opponents.

Isabelle Hemmen and Grace Hoene were the No. 2 champions, winning 13-1, 13-1 and 14-0 to finish with a 40-2 day.

Diana Mossman and Lexi Will claimed the No. 3 spot with 11-3, and 13-1 victories.

The No. 4 team of Kenna Koester and Carley Habing went 1-1.

The Wooden Shoes' four doubles teams outscored their opponents. 83-17.
