St. A Takes Third, T-town Seventh at Tennis Invite

CHAMPAIGN -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed third place at the Champaign Centennial Girls Tennis Invitational Saturday.

Winning was Chicago The Latin School with 27.5 points followed by Belleville West 18, St. Anthony 17, Wheaton Warrenville South 16, Belleville East 13.5, O'Fallon 13.5, Teutopolis 12, Central 11.5, Dunlap 11.5, Danville 11, Lincoln-Way East 10, Conant 8.5, Centennial 3, Peoria Notre Dame 2, Hinsdale South 1 and Urbana 0.

"There was strong competition," said St. Anthony Coach Darlene Esker. "Both area schools, ourselves and Teutopolis, showed great competitive qualities."

St. Anthony's Emilee Mossman captured first place in the No. 1 singles while T-town's Emilee Mossman took fourth.

Allison Kowalke and Averee Greene finished third in the No. 1 doubles for the Bulldogs while T-town's Allison Brumleve and Macy Probst finished fourth in the No. 1 doubles.
