St. A, Newton Play To 3-3 Tie, EHS Drops Tennis Match

The Bulldogs scored all three of their points in singles play. Noah Tegeler won at No. 1, 6-1, 6-7(1), 6-4 while Michael Kaldas took No. 2, 6-3, 6-3. Henry Kemme was a winner at No. 4. He lost the opener 6-2 but fought back to take the match, 6-3, 6-3.

Newton won the No. 3 singles spot as Zach Dust won 6-3, 6-4. The Eagles then took the two doubles matches as Justin Zumbahlen and Dylan Ochs won 6-1, 6-0 and Dust and Sam Hemrich claimed the second match, 6-0, 6-2.

At Effingham

Mattoon came calling and claimed a 6-3 victory over Effingham Monday.

The Hearts claimed only one singles match as Brennan Barr won at  No. 4, 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles play, the Hearts took No. 2 as Nate Linders and Barr combined to win, 6-4, 4-6, 13-11. Cole Stanfield and Colby Heaton captured the No. 3 spot, 7-6 (2) 6-3.
