T-town Champions at Mt. Vernon, St. A Third At Champaign

HERRIN -- Teutopolis High School captured the championship of the Mount Vernon Doubles Tennis Tournament Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes tallied 145 points followed by Herrin 117, Marion 105, Mount Vernon 56 and Salem 39.

T-town claimed first place in three of the four doubles. Nicole Deters and Diana Mossman were winners at the No. 2 spot with 33 points. Julia Hardiek and Elizabeth Will finished first at the No. 3 doubles with 42 points. Maria Vahling and Molly Niemerg combined to nab the No. 4 doubles with 40 points.

Lauren Hemmen and Alli Brumleve contributed at the No. 1 spot by taking second and scoring 36 points.

Mount Vernon Doubles Tournament

No. 1 -- Lauren Hemmen-Alli Brumleve, second

 At Champaign

Effingham St. Anthony took third place at the Champaign Chargers Tennis Tournament.

Averee Greene and Allie Dasenbrock claimed second place at the No. 4 doubles.

Claire Wortman and Allison Kowalke were fourth at the No. 1 doubles while Maryann Saba and Megah Hodge were also fourth at No. 2. Emilee Mossman and Catherine Willenborg combined at No. 3 to finish fifth.

At Champaign Charger Tournament

No. 1 Doubles -- Claire Wortman-Allison Kowalke, fourth
