EHS, Teutopolis Drop Tennis Losses

Effingham High School fell in tennis competition to Mount Zion Monday, 6-3. The loss drops the Hearts to 1-4.

The Hearts scored two points in singles play. Parker Siner defeated Zack Clements 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 while Ben Donsbach won over Brenden Inboden, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles play, the Hearts took the No. 2 spot as Nate Linders and Donsbach combined to win 6-4, 5-7, 10-7.

At Effingham

Teutopolis fell to host Mount Zion, 7-2. The Wooden Shoes drop to 5-1 on the season.

The Braves swept through singles play. T-town took two of the three doubles matches.

Noah Pals and Alex Probst combined to win at No. 1, 4-6, 6-4, 10-3. Corey Schabbing and Alex Meinhart won the No. 3 spot, 6-1, 6-1.

Teutopolis was a winner in junior varsity competition, 6-3 over Edwardsville Monday.

Winning in singles play were Logan Waldhoff, Ludvig Landgren and Alex Deters.

In doubles play, the Shoes swept as Devin Sabo-Max Ruholl won at No. 1 while Waldhoff and Mitchell Deters claimed the No. 2 position. Landgren and Deters claimed the final spot. T-town is now 5-0.
