T-town Wins Mount Vernon Doubles, St. A Fifth at Champaign

MOUNT VERNON -- Teutopolis High School captured the championship of the Mount Vernon Doubles Tennis Tournament Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes had 160 points followed by Marion 109, Mount Vernon 90, Herrin 89 and Salem 32.

Lauren Hemmen and Sidney Brumleve captured first place in the No. 1 doubles with 37 points. Diana Mossman and Alli Brumleve took first place at No. 3 with 44 points. Julia Hardiek and Nicole Deters were first at No. 4 with 46.

Audra Breer and Christa Schwinke finished second at No. 2 with 33 points.

At Mount Vernon

At Champaign

Effingham St. Anthony competed in the Champaign Charger Doubles Tournament Saturday and finished fifth. Naperville Central won with 26 points followed by Downers Grove South 16, Bloomington Central Catholic 12, Centennial 9.5, St. Anthony 9, Champaign St. Thomas More 4.5, Urbana 1 and Danville 1.

Emilee Mossman and Mary Claire Wegman finished third at the No. 2 doubles spot. Megan Hodge and Maryann Saba also nabbed third place at No. 4. Makenzie Koeng and Reese Buenker were fourtht at No. 4 and Clarei Wortman and Catherine Willenborg took sixth at No. 1.

At Champaign

No. 1 Doubles -- Claire Wortman/Catherine Willenborg, sixth place
