Shoes Beat Bulldogs in Tennis Action

Teutopolis High School moved its record to 13-1 on the season with a 7-2 win over Effingham St. Anthony in tennis competition Thursday.

St. Anthony's Jay Niebrugge captured the top singles spot by downing Andy Mersman 6-4, 6-2. But the Wooden Shoes took the next five singles spots.

Winning were Kyele Mossman, Trevor Lee, Jacob Mette, Noah Pals and Devin Sabo.

In doubles play, the Bulldogs claimed the top spot as Niebrugge and Chris Jones combined to win 6-2, 5-7, 7-6.

Pals and Alex Probst then nabbed the No. 2 spot for the Shoes 6-2, 6-2 while Joseph Esker and Alex Meinhart took the No. 3 spot, 6-7 (1), 7-5, 7-6 (1).
