Bulldogs Hand Charleston 9-0 Tennis Loss

Effingham St. Anthony easily outdistanced Charleston 9-0 in tennis competition Tuesday.

Jay Niebrugge picked up the top singles win, 6-1, 6-0. Alec Niebrugge went 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2. Chris Jones was a 6-2, 6-1 winner while Ian Harris claimed 6-0, 6-2 victories. Andy Saba won 6-4, 6-1. The closest match came at No. 6 as Robert Liu won 6-1 before Brandon Miller came back with a 6-2 victory. Liu then rallied for a 10-5 score and the match.

In doubles, J. Niebrugge and Jones combined to win 6-2, 6-2. Saba and Donovan Hammer claimed 6-0, 6-3 victories. Ryan Kroeger and Kyle Hartke won 6-0, 7-6 (11-9).

The Bulldogs are now 5-0 on the season.
