Effingham Blanks Shelbyville in Tennis

Effingham High School remained unbeaten on the season by blanking Shelbyville 9-0 in tennis competition Tuesday.

The Hearts' closest match in singles came at No. 1 as Wyatt Wohltman won 6-4, 6-4. Isaac Foreman took the No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0. Then it was Jared Minor, Aaron Meyers, Parth Maheshwari and Jason Wohltman all winning 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Foreman-Meyers won 6-2, 6-1 while Minor and J. Wohltman won 6-0, 6-0. Drake Hill and Aaron Conley claimed No. 3, 6-1, 6-0.

EHS is now 10-0 on the season and will be competing in the Casey-Westfield Sectional Friday and Saturday.

No. 1 -- Foreman-Meyers (E) defeated Jared Finley-Wade (S), 6-2, 6-1

No. 2 -- Minor-J. Wohltman (E) defeated Applegate-Jefson (S), 6-0, 6-0

No. 3 -- Drake Hill-Aaron Conley (E) defeated Niemerg-Stinnett (E), 6-1, 6-0
