Bulldogs Down Warriors In Tennis Play

Effingham St. Anthony High School lost only one match in downing Casey-Westfield 8-1 in tennis competition Tuesday. The Bulldogs are now a perfect 7-0 on the season and back in action Thursday hosting Effingham.

In singles play, Frank Jansen and Jay Niebrugge had easy times downing their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Scott Rentfrow won 6-1, 7-5 while Alec Niebrugge claimed a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Chris Jones won 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles play, Rentfrow and Jay Niebrugge combined to win 6-2, 6-1. Ian Harris and A. Niebrugge claimed the win 6-2, 6-1. Benton Hakman and Luke Jansen won 6-4, 7-5.

Iin a junior varsity contest, Teutopolis blanked Paris 9-0. The Wooden Shoes improve their season record to 5-0.
