T-town Falls To Salem, Oblong Beats BCCH in Softball

Salem Franklin Park claimed an 8-6 win over Teutopolis in junior high school softball competition Thursday.

Franklin Park held a 6-0 lead but T-town came back with three runs in the third and two in the fourth to pull within 6-5. Frankiln Park then scored its final two runs in the fifth.

T-town outhit Franklin Park 9-6 but committed six errors. Marianna Hemmen and Lauren Hemmen had two singles each. L. Hemmen had two RBI while M. Hemmen had one. T-town drops to 5-11 and returns to action Tuesday hosting Mattoon at 4 p.m.

Oblong came calling and blanked Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 16-0 in four innings. Oblong had eight hits compared to one for the homestanders.

Taylor Oldham had the lone hit for BCCH with a double.
