Effingham Junior High School claimed a 6-2 victory over Paris Mayo in softball action Tuesday.
The Mustangs held a 4-0 lead until Paris Mayo finally scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth but Effingham tallied two more in the top of the seventh.
Armstrong picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter with one walk and 14 strikeouts. Armstrong also had two singles and drove in a run. Carsyn Fearday had two singles and a double.

Teutopolis tallied the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to edge Altamont 3-2 Tuesday.
Emma Beckman pitched a four-hitter. Beckman added a triple and an RBI while Marianna Hemmen had a single and triple.
T-town improves to 5-10 and will take on Salem Thursday at home.
