Mustangs Edge Paris Mayo, Charleston Blanks T-town

Effingham Junior High School edged Paris Mayo 8-7 in a come-from-behind-win in softball action Wednesday evening.
Paris Mayo held a 2-0 lead until Effingham tied the score in the top of the third. Paris Mayo went ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the frame then took a 7-2 lead in the fifth. Effingham rallied and came back with a six-run seventh to pull out the victory.
Miranda Fox led the Mustangs with a single, triple and an RBI while Aly Armstrong had a single and drove in two runs.
"The team did not give up in the final inning and it paid off," said Effingham Coach Megan Whitacre. "We could have given up, but we chose to give 110% to get the win."

At Charleston
Teutopolis traveled to Charleston and suffered a 10-0 loss. T-town trailed 5-0 after the first inning and Charleston tallied two in the second and fifth and one in the fourth to end the game via the 10-run rule.
T-town had only one hit, a single by Emma Beckman. T-town drops to 2-5 and will host Shelbyville today in a 4:30 p.m. start.
