Jasper County captured first place in the Altamont Junior High School Opening Day Softball Tournament Saturday.
Scores were:
Altamont 12, St. Anthony/Sacred Heart 10; Jasper County 14, Sullivan 3; Jasper County 8, St. Anthony/Sacred Heart 4; Sullivan 9, Altamont 8; St. Anthony/Sacred Heart 10, Sullivan 9 and Jasper County 19, Altamont 8.
Jasper County took first followed by St. Anthony/Sacred Heart, Altamont and Sullivan.

Windsor/Stew-Stras Claims Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick Round Robin
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg finished 3-0 in the Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick Round Robin Softball Tournament.
Windsor/Stew-Stras blanked St. Elmo/Brownstown 10-0. Calla Roney picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter with one walk and 11 strikeouts.
In the second game Windsor/Stew-Stras won over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 15-2. Carson Cole had three singles and an RBI for the winners while Taylor Rentfro had a home run and three RBI.
In the third game, Windsor/Stew-Stras downed Mulberry Grove 5-1. Cole had three singles and an RBI. Windsor-Stew-Stras is now 6-1 on the season.
Mulberry Grove blanked Beecher City 16-0 as A. Dothager pitched a no-hitter. Then BCCH fell to Windsor/Stew-Stras 15-2 and the final game, St. Elmo/Brownstown won over BCCH 10-3.
Windsor-Stew-Stras was the champion with a 3-0 mark followed by Mulberry Grove 2-1, St. Elmo/Brownstown 1-2 and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 0-3.
