Effingham, T-town Wins in Junior High Softball Action

Effingham Junior High School outlasted Paris 15-10 in softball action Tuesday evening.

The Mustangs took a 7-0 first inning lead but led only 9-8 after the third inning. The Mustangs then tallied four runs in the fourth and two more in the seventh.

"We played very well from top to bottom," said Coach Lindsay VanBlaricum. "We subbed a lot and everyone did their job regardless of where we put them. I'm very proud of the girls and starting the season off 2-0 is a great start."

Miranda Fox led the squad with three singles while Lauryn Douthit contributed two singles and an RBI and Carsyn Fearday with two singles. The Mustangs are back in action Thursday at Teutopolis.

At Beecher City

Teutopolis blanked Beecher City 16-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

T-town took a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back. Emma Beckman pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and four walks. Beckman also aided her own cause with a single, double and two-run homer. She finished with six RBI.

T-town won a Monday contest, 15-9 over Findlay/Okaw Valley. T-town had 12 hits in that contest with Lauren Wessel, Julia Schmid and Callie McMahon banging out two singles each. Schmid had two RBI.

T-town is now 2-3 on the season and returns to action Thursday hosting Effingham.
