Wessel's Claims Doubleheader Victory

Wessel's Coors Light handed Budweiser a doubleheader loss in men's fastpitch softball action Thursday.

Wessel's won the opener 4-2, scoring two runs in the second and third innings. Wessel's had six hits led by McNeely with a home run and two RBI and Bohnhoff with a triple. Budweiser also had six hits, all singles by six different players.

In the second game, Wessel's edged Budweiser 5-4. Budweiser held a 2-1 lead until the third when Wessel's tallied four runs then had to hold off Budweiser in the fifth.

Bohnhoff had a single and a double while Lee had a double and drove in three runs for the winners.

In the Kelso Classic in early June Wessel's picked up two victories and suffered two defeats. In the opener, Wessel's fell to Kelso 8-0. Wessel's then came back with a 12-6 win over Franny's.

Wessel's defeated Teutopolis K.C. 9-6 before falling to Topeka Toros 5-3.
