CORL Edges South Central In Softball

KINMUNDY -- Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran moved ahead in the top of the seventh and held on to edge South Central 6-5 in high school softball competition Wednesday.

The Cougars took a 1-0 first inning lead but CORL came back to move ahead with two in the top of the second and one in the third. South Central tied the score at 3-3 with two in the fourth. CORL had a 4-3 lead in the fifth but South Central tied in the sixth.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran then tallied two in the seventh. South Central came back with one in the bottom of the frame only to drop the contest by a run.

The Cougars outhit Christ Our Rock Lutheran by a 9-6 count. Amelia Montes had a single and double while Kinlee Thompson and Abi Shuler had two singles each. Jaylyn Michel added a triple.

South Centarl drops to 17-6 on the season and returns to action Friday against Salem.
