ALTAMONT -- Two pitchers battled in this contest before Teutopolis blanked  Altamont, 4-0 in girls softball action Thursday.

T-town's Courtney Gibson went the distance, allowing three hits, giving up seven walks and striking out 11 for the win.

The Wooden Shoes didn't strike until the fifth inning when they scored three runs then tacked on a final run in the seventh.

Emily Konkel led the way offensively for T-town with a double, triple and two RBI while Erin Althoff had a double and an RBI.

Altamont's Grace Lemke took the loss on the hill, going all seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, one walk while striking out 10.

Lemke also led offensively with a single and triple while Peyton Osteen had a double.

At Kinmundy

South Central took the early lead before Dieterich tied at 2-2 in the top of the fourth.

But the Cougars came back with three in the fourth and one in the fifth for a 6-3 win Thursday.

Taegan Webster went the distance on the mound, allowing three runs on four hits, one walk while striking out 10.

Webster also was on offensively with a single, home run and two RBI. Ella Watwood had two singles and a double, Brooklyn Garrett a double and two RBI while Amelia Montes had a double. 

Dieterich was led by Brittney Niemerg with a single and a solo home run.

South Central is now 2-2 in the National Trail Conference, 5-2 overall and is back in action today against Newton.

At Bethany

Okaw Valley took a 5-0 lead in the second inning and went on for an 8-3 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

CHBC outhit Okaw Valley by a 7-5 count but had four errors in the contest.

Macee Rodman led the Hornets with two singles and an RBI while Marissa Summers and Ruby Stuckemeyer had a single and an RBI each.

Avery Bruns led Okaw Valley with a single and double while Lindsey Ozier had a triple and three RBI and Rissa Montgomery a triple and an RBI.

At Bethany

At Newton

Newton took a 1-0 first inning lead and held it until the fifth when Casey-Westfield tied. The Warriors then scored two in the sixth for a 3-1 victory Thursday.

The Eagles had only two hits, a single and RBI by Avery Mulvey and Bailee Frichtl with a single.

Casey-Westfield's Paige Cutright went all seven innings on the mound. She finished with 10 strikeouts.

Cutright also led the way offensively, with three singles. Kam Smith had a single and double while Maya Redman had two singles.

At Strasburg

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond had to go nine innings before handing Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg an 8-4 loss Thursday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 after two innings. ALAH moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the third but Windsor/Stew-Stras came back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to lead 4-3. ALAH tied in the sixth.

The game went into extra innings before ALAH tallied four runs in the top of the ninth.

The Hatchets had nine hits in the contest led by Sam Hayes with a single and double, Ella Kinkelaar with two singles, Sam Porter with a double and two RBI, Ava Richards with a double and an RBI and Ellie Wittenberg with a single and an RBI.

Madison Schweighart picked up the win on the mound for ALAH, going all nine innings, allowing four runs on nine hits, one walk and striking out four.
