Altamont Advances To Title Game In NTC Tourney

The bats were hot for Altamont High School as the Indians trounced Stewardson-Strasburg 14-4 in five innings in the National Trail Conference Softball Tournament Monday.

The Indians had 12 hits in the game led by Lauren Ohnesorge with a single, double, triple and four RBI and Deidre Ledbetter with a double and an RBI, Alex Teasley with a double and an RBI. Madison Ohnesorge added three singles, Gabby Alwardt two singles and an RBI and Joleen Northrup two singles.

Ledbetter picked up the pitching win on an eight-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts. The victory pushes the Indians into the championship game today against Windsor at 4 p.m.

Stew-Stras drops into the third place game today at 4 p.m. at Effingham St. Anthony. St. Elmo/Brownstown will take on South Central at 4 p.m. The winner advances to the consolation championship at 5:30 p.m. to face Dieterich.
