Errors were a problem as Casey-Westfield defeated Teutopolis 9-1 Thursday in high school softball.  The game was called due to lightning in the area with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Lady Shoes committed four errors, leading to seven unearned runs.

Dakota Swingler took the loss, giving up seven runs but just one earned, allowing five hits and walking three while striking out one batter.  Kaitlin Smith pitched the final two innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk while recording two strikeouts.

At the plate for T-Town, Kadi Borries homered, Allison Apke doubled and walked, and Chelsey Hardiek singled.

Teutopolis is now 13-5 on the season and is scheduled to play Edwardsville today.
