Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ended its softball contest against St. Elmo/Brownstown in five innings via the 10-run rule, 11-0 Wednesday.

Madison Cherry threw a one-hitter for the win on the mound. She finished with only one walk while striking out 12.

CHBC held a 3-0 opening inning lead then tacked on two in the second and finished out with six in the fourth.

The Bobcats banged out 11 hits to go with those 11 runs. Cherry not only led on the mound but also at bat with a single, double, home run and four RBI. Gracie Heckert had a single, double and two RBI. H. Reed had two singles and an RBI. Marissa Summers added a single and two RBI.

H. Wright had the lone hit for SEB with a single.

At Cowden

At Dieterich

Seven extra base hits and 19 total led South Central to a 16-0 win in four innings over Dieterich Wednesday.

The Cougars edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then tallied two in the second, 10 in the third and finished out with three in the fourth.

Lily Malone, a junior, led the way for South Central with two singles, a double, triple and three RBI. Four players finished with three hits each. Halle Smith had two singles, a double and two RBI, Jaylyn Michel a single, double, triple and two RBI, Taegan Webster two singles, a triple and two RBI and Kayli Swift with three singles and three RBI. Brooklyn Garrett added a single and double.

T. Webster threw a three-hitter with no walks and six strikeouts. The Cougars are now 8-2 on the season.

Dieterich had singles by Kaitlyn Boerngen, J. Pruemer and Olivia Brummer.

At Paris

Effingham St. Anthony fell to Paris, 4-2 in  Wednesday competition.

The Tigers broke a 2-2 third inning tie with a two-run fourth. Paris banged out 10 hits in the contest and St. Anthony had two errors.

The Bulldogs were led by Lucy Fearday with a single, double and two RBI and Addie Wernsing with two singles.

Casey-Westfield took a 2-1 first inning lead and went on for a 15-1 win in five innings over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Wednesday.

Paige Cutright went three innings for the Warriors, allowing one run on one hit with no walks and three strikeouts. Addie Brasier came on to finish out the final two innings, allowing no hits with three strikeouts.

The Hatchets had one hit, a single by Hannah Hayes.
