Effingham Junior High School edged Altamont, 8-6 in girls softball action Friday.

Leading the Mustangs in scoring were R. Boone with a single, triple and three RBI, E. Niebrugge with a triple and two RBI and J. Bierman with two singles.

Altamont was led by P. Osteen with a triple and two RBI and S. Klein and G. Nelson with two singles each.

St. Anthony pounded Dieterich 16-0 in three innings Friday.

A. Nuxoll went 2.1 innings allowing one hit, no walks and striking out one. C. Wines went 0.2 allowing no hits and two walks.

The Bullpups had 10 hits led by S. Kibler with a single, triple and two RBI and A. Rios with two singles and an RBI. C. Wines had a single and three RBI.

Dieterich's one hit was a single by B. Westendorf.

Jasper County improved to 11-1 on the season with an 18-0 win over Neoga Friday.

Jasper County stepped out to a 10-0 opening inning lead and ended the game in the third.

B. Frichtl went one inning allowing no hits and striking out one. L. Grove pitched two innings, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out four

M. Miller had a single, double and an RBI while S. Kinder and B. Frichtl had a double each. Frichtl had three RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg banged out 18 hits and claimed a 17-4 win over Teutopolis in action Friday.

Addie Wernsing and Ella Kinkelaar had four hits each for the winners. Wernsing had two singles, a double, triple and five RBI while Kinkelaar had four singles and two RBI. Samantha Hayes and Kinley Quast added a single and double each. Hayes had two RBI and Quast one. Alaira Friese had three singles and two RBI.

Teutopolis was led by Althoff with two singles and an RBI.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City outlasted St. Elmo/Brownstown to the tune of 26-13 Friday.

The score was tied at 10-10 after four innings. CHBC then had eight run innings in the sixth and seventh.

CHBC had 13 hits led by Ellie Miller with a single and double and Macee Rodman with three singles and two RBI.

SEB was led by Lexi Seabaugh with a single and double and Jayna Ireland with two singles, a double and two RBI.

Effingham blanked Teutopolis 5-0  behind five hits in the T-town Round Robin.

The Mustangs' E. Niebrugge led the way with a single, double and an RBI.

S. Althoff threw a four-hitter with no walks and five strikeouts.

T-town was led by Wilkins, Tebbe, Westendorf and Copple with a single each.

Effingham then downed Flora, 19-1 in four innings. The Mustangs led 7-1 after two innings and had a 10-run fourth.

S. Althoff led the way with four singles and four RBI while S. Donaldson and I. Volpi added two singles and two RBI each. Beals had a double and an RBI and Harvey a triple and an RBI.

Beals threw a four-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts.

WSS had nine hits led by Addie Wernsing with a single and double, Gabby Vonderheide with a single, triple and three RBI and Alaira Friese with two singles and two RBI.

WSS then downed Sullivan 15-0 in four innings behind 11 hits.

Addie Wernsing had a double, home run and four RBI while Samantha Hayes had two singles, Aubrey Antrim a double and an RBI and Friese a double and an RBI.

Hayes picked up the win on the mound, going three innings allowing no runs on two hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
