Effingham stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back in a 10-1 win over Shelbyville in junior high baseball action Tuesday.

The Mustangs  held a 5-1 lead after three innings then added on a run in the fifth and four in the seventh.

Effingham had nine hits led by M. Harvey with three singles and an RBI, E. Niebrugge with a single, triple and three RBI and S. Althoff with a double and an RBI.

S. Althoff was the winner on the mound, going six innings allowing four hits, six walks and 10 strikeouts.

At Sullivan

St. Anthony ended this contest in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule with a 12-1 win over Sullivan Tuesday.

The Bullpups took a 1-0 first inning lead then had a six-run third. St. Anthony had six hits led by M. Kibler with a double, A. Nuxoll with a single, triple and an RBI and S. Kibler with two singles and an RBI.

A. Nuxoll was the winning pitcher, going all five innings, allowing two hits, four walks and striking out eight.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blanked Dieterich 12-0 in five innings Tuesday.

WSS had 10 hits and was aided by seven Dieterich errors. Samantha Hayes and Ella Kinkelaar had a single and triple each. Hayes added an RBI. Stacie Vonderheice had a double while Marisa Daniels had two singles and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by Niemerg and Westendorf with a single each.

Mulberry Grove took the early lead and went on for an 11-6 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.

CHBC had six hits in the game but committed eight errors. Ruby Stuckemeyer had a triple and an RBI while Birgen Schlanser added three singles.

Jasper County tallied a 9-5 victory over Teutopolis in action Tuesday.

Jasper County broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run third and tallied three more in the sixth.

A. O'Dell had four singles and two RBI for the winners while A. Mulvey had two singles and a double. S. Kinder added a double and two RBI while K.Martin ahd two singles.

T-town was led by Watt with two singles and a triple.
