Effingham St. Anthony fell to Charleston by a 6-5 count in junior high softball action Friday.

The Bullpups took a 3-0 opening inning lead. Charleston came back with two in the second and two in the top of the fourth to lead 4-3. But St. Anthony tallied two in the bottom of the fourth to move ahead 5-4. Charleston then scored two runs in the sixth for the victory.

A. Rios led St. Anthony with a single and triple while S. Kibler and A. Faber had two singles each .Kibler added an RBI.

At Cowden

Dieterich banged out 13 hits and scored 13 runs in a 13-3 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Friday.

E. Meinhart led the hitting parade with two singles, a double and two RBI while R. Westendorf had a single, double and an RBI. E. Meinhart added a single, double and four RBI while S. Goebel had three singles and two RBI. B.Niemerg had two singles.

CHBC was led by A. Wasson with a double and an RBI.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis claimed two victories during its round robin Saturday.

Teutopolis defeated Lawrenceville Parkview, 7-4 behind nine hits.

The Wooden Shoes were led by E. Althoff with four hits and two RBI while K. Wilkins had two hits. E. Wermert finished with one hit and three RBI.

T-town then bounced Dieterich 15-3. D. Copple had three hits and two RBI while K. Wilkins finished with two hits and two RBI and S. Wall two hits and an RBI.

Dieterich was a 7-4 winner over Lawrenceville Parkview. Dieterich stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead and led 3-1 going into the fourth. Parkview tied the score. The score was knotted again in the sixth at 4-4. Dieterich then scored three in the seventh for the win.

R. Westendorf had a single, two doubles and three RBI while C. Faller had three singles. L. Jansen and B. Niemerg had two singles each. Niemerg finished  with an RBI.
