TOLEDO -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg claimed the championship of the Cumberland Junior High Softball Tournament Saturday with two victories.

WSS edged Teutopolis 4-3. WSS took a 2-0 second ining lead and led 3-0 until the fourth when the Shoes tied the game. The Hatchets then claimed the win with a run in the fifth.

Ella Kinkelaar and Stacie Vonderheide had a triple each for the winners. Kinkelaar had an RBI.

T-town was led by Wilkins with a double and an RBI.

In the second contest, WSS bounced host Cumberland, 11-3. WSS took a 3-1 first inning lead and added on three more in the second and fifth and single runs in the third and fourth.

Kinkelaar had two singles, a home run and three RBI while Samantha Hayes and Gabby Vonderheide had two singles each. Hayes drove in a run.

Cumberland was led by Sowers with a single, double and an RBI and Shoemaker with two singles.

At Oblong

Jasper County claimed two victories to win the Oblong Round Robin Tournament Saturday.

Jasper County blanked host Oblong 15-0 in three innings. Jasper County took a 9-0 opening inning lead and had seven hits in the contest. B. Fritchl led the way with a single, triple and an RBI while K. Martin had two singles and an RBI.

L. Grove was the winning pitcher on a one-hitter with two walks and three strikeouts.

In the second contest, Jasper County won over Effingham St. Anthony, 6-3. The score was tied at 1-1 after three innings, St. Anthony took a 3-1 lead in the fourth. Jasper County then came back with five runs in the sixth for the win.

The winners were led by K. Martin with a triple and L. Grove with two singles.

St. Anthony was led by C.Wines with a single, triple and an RBI, H. Niebrugge with two singles and M. Kibler and S. Kibler with a double each. M. Kibler added an RBI.

The Bullpups finished second in the round robin with a 13-2 win over Oblong. St. Anthony led 11-2 after two innings.

S. Kibler had a double, triple and five RBI for the winners while C. Wines had two singles and two RBI, H. Niebrugge two singles and an RBI, L. Coffin two singles and M. Kibler a triple and an RBI.
