Altamont Edges St. A, WSS, T-town Win

There wasn't a whole lot of difference between Altamont and Effingham St. Anthony in softball action Monday except the score.

Both teams had five hits in the game and the score was tied at 2-2 in the top of the seventh. Altamont came through with a run in the bottom of the inning to pull out the victory.

Ellie McManaway had a triple and drove in a run for the Indians while Bailey Teasley added a double. Tinley Mette and Taylor Mette had a single and drove in a run each.

St Anthony was led by Sydney Gibson with two singles and Karlee Roepke with a double. Alexis Stephens added a single and drove in two runs. The Bulldogs finished with two errors.

Teasley picked up the pitching win allowing five hits, two runs, three walks and striking out four. Katie Kabbes was the tough-luck loser, going 6.1 innings allowing five hits, three runs, two walks and striking out one. The Indians are now 3-3 in the National Trail Conference, 9-15 overall.

At Strasburg

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blanked Nokomis 10-0 in a non-conference contest Monday.

The Hatchets took a 3-0 first inning lead then added on five in the second and two in the sixth.

WSS banged out 16 hits led by Carson Cole with a single, two doubles and an RBI, Megan Schlechte with two singles and a double, Karlie Bean with three doubles and two RBI, Maddy Pfeiffer with two singles and Katrina Davis with a double and an RBI.

Calla Roney went the distance on the mound allowing three hits, two walks and striking out 13.

At Strasburg

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis trailed Dieterich 1-0 until the third inning when the Movin' Maroons tacked on two more and led 3-0 in the top of the fourth. The Shoes tallied their first run in the bottom of the frame then scored four more in the fifth for the 5-4 victory Monday.

Emma Deters hit a solo home run while Allie Niebrugge and M. Funneman had a triple each. Funneman added an RBI. Leah Schumacher had a single and drove in a run.

Dieterich was led by Allie Poe with a single and triple. Brooke Locey with a triple and an RBI and Emily Bloemer with two singles.

T-town celebrated Senior Night and improved to 9-9 on the season.
