Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg continued its domination of National Trail Conference softball teams by blanking Effingham St. Anthony, 8-0 in high school action Wednesday.

The Hatchets edged out to a 1-0 second inning lead and had a three-run third and a four-run fourth.

Megan Schlechte led the winners with a single, triple and three RBI while Mackenzi Tabbert and Natalie Hayes had two singles each. Carson Cole added a single and two RBI.

M. Schlechte went the whole seven innings on the mound, allowing four hits, one walk and striking out seven for the win.

Windsor/Stew-Stras is now a perfect 24-0 on the season.

St. Anthony was led by Liz Day with a double and Karlee Roepke with two singles.

At Strasburg

At Ramsey

South Central took the early lead and held on for an 8-4 win over Ramsey Wednesday.

The Cougars had one less hit than Ramsey but still finished with nine. Laney Webster and Sydnee Garrett had a single, home run and two RBI each. Katie Shumate added three singles.

South Central improves to 13-4 on the season and will return to action Friday at St. Elmo/Brownstown for a 1 p.m. contest.

At Cisne

North/Clay City fell to Cisne in action Wednesday. No score was reported.

NC/CC was led by Kirstin Allen with three hits and Bre Farris, Hailey Miller and Malorie Craig with two hits each. Miller added an RBI.

North Clay/Clay City drops to 0-6 in Midland Trail Conference play and 1-10 overall.

At Villa Grove

Villa Grove/Heritage played host to Cumberland and edged the Pirates, 3-2 Wednesday in Little Okaw Valley Conference Southeast Division action.

The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the second. Villa Grove/Heritage moved ahead 2-1 in the fourth. Cumberland tied in the top of the sixth but Villa Grove/Heritage tallied the winning run in the bottom of the frame.

The Pirates outhit Villa Grove/Heritage by a 9-8 count. Sage Carr had three singles and an RBI while Liberty Dunaway had two singles, Zoe Mitchell had a solo home run, Danae Sowers two singles and Sadie Oakley a double.

Cumberland drops to 5-2 in the conference, 11-5 overall.
