In a battle of the two city schools Friday, Effingham defeated St. Anthony 9-5. The two teams banged out 21 hits.

Beck got the win with help from Lilly. Fearday went the distance and took the loss for St. Anthony. Effingham got four runs in the second, St. Anthony got a run in the fourth, but Effingham scored single runs in the fifth and sixth and then scored three in the top of the seventh. St. Anthony scored four times in the seventh, but Effingham prevailed. For Effingham, Beck went 4-for-4 with 4 RBI, Kreke had two hits, Boone had two hits, and Niebrugge Cunningham, and Frost each got a hit. Cunningham, Frost and Woomer each drove in a run. For St. Anthony, Fearday had three hits, Rios and Faber each had two hits, and Kibler, Quandt and A. Rios each had a hit. Fearday drove in two runs.

St. Elmo/Brownstown defeated CHBC 10-6 Friday. Baker got the win; Wojcik took the loss. For CHBC, Gracie Heckert singled twice, and Mady Wojcik doubled and singled. For SEB, Smith singled twice and doubled, Pasley singled twice, Baker doubled and singled, Ireland singled twice, Carson singled, Putnam singled twice.

South Central blanked Vandalia 10-0 on Friday. Taegan Webster got the win. At the plate for South Central: Taegan Webster two singles, Sierra Arnold triple and two singles, Brooklyn Garrett two singles, Brooke Cowger single, Rayna Hall two singles. South Central improved to 12-0.
