Jr. Softball Results -- August 29

Effingham Junior High School tallied an 8-6 victory over Flora in girls softball action Wednesday.

The Mustangs brought home four runs in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth. They then had to hold off Flora who scored four in the bottom of the seventh.

Effingham had 10 hits led by Elena Niebrugge with two doubles, Abby Cunningham with three singles and an RBI, Riley Cuningham with a double and two RBI and Madison Mapes with two singles.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis tallied the lone run of the game in the third inning in blanking Charleston 1-0 Wednesday.

The Wooden Shoes had seven hits led by Emily Konkel and Josie Drees with two singles each.

Courtney Gibson went all five innings on the mound, allowing five hits, five walks and striking out one.
