ALTAMONT -- Effingham scored 12 runs in the first inning and went on to blank Altamont 22-1 in three junior high softball innings Friday.

R. Cunningham and Woomer combined to throw a no-hitter. Cunningham pitched two innings, allowing one walk and striking out five. Woomer threw the final inning, allowing one run, three walks and striking out two.

Bushur had a single, home run and four RBI for the Mustangs. Duncan added a solo shot while Kalber had a home run and three RBI. Lohman added a double and two RBI.

At Kinmundy

South Central hosted Field Friday and pounded Field 19-3 in four innings.

South Central had 14 hits led by Halle Smith with three singles and two RBI, Laney Webster with two singles and two RBI, Brooklyn Garreett two singles and three RBI, Taegan Webster two singles and four RBI and Jaylyn Michel two singles.

In the South Centrla Booster Club Tourney Saturday, South Central won over Vandalia 12-5. L. Weber picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with one walk and eight strikeouts.

L. Weber had a double, home run and four RBI, Smith a single, a two-run homer over the left field fence and finished with three RBI and Garrett a single, double and two RBI.

In the second contest, South Central blasted Patoka 20-1. South Central took a 4-0 first inning lead and then had a 16-run third.

L. Webster had a double, triple, home run and six RBI for the winners. Garrett had two singles and two RBI. Sierra Arnold two singles, Smith a single, double, home run and four RBI, Rivera a single, double and three RBI and T. Webster and Macey Potter with two singles and an RBI each.

In the third contest, South Central won over Field 9-3. South Central had a five-run second. L. Webster had two singles while Arnold had a single and double.

South Central is now 11-0 on the season.
