Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 16-0 in girls softball action Monday.

The Bullpups' Fearday threw a no-hitter over the three innings, allowing one walk and striking out nine.

Rothrock led St. Anthony in hitting with three singles and drove in two runs. Fearday had a single and two RBI.

St. Anthony hosted a round robin Saturday with Jasper County and Oblong.

St. Anthony blanked Oblong 13-0 in four innings. Fearday threw a two-hitter with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Karolewicz had a solo home run while Rothrock and T. Quandt added two singles each. T. Quandt had two RBI and Rothrock one. Rios had a double and an RBI.

Jasper County claimed a 10-4 win over St. Anthony. Jasper County broke a 2-2 opening inning tie with four runs in the second and four more in the third. St. Anthony scored two final runs in the seventh.

Jasper County had 10 hits led by Kidwell with a single, triple and two RBI, Russell with two singles and two RBI and White with two singles.

Rios, Fearday and Faber had a single each for the Bullpups.

At Bethany

Teutopolis Junior High School came calling and went home with a 17-14 victory over Okaw Valley Monday.

The Shoes opened the first inning with two runners on base. Those two came home on a sacrifice bunt by Tia Probst. Dascha Piedra followed with a base hit and stole two bases before scoring on a passed ball.

In the top of the third, T-town scored three more runs. The Shoes added on seven runs in the fourth. The big hit of the inning was an inside-the-park home run by seventh-grader Emily Konkel who drove in three runs.

T-town held a 14-1 lead after four innings. Okaw Valley pulled within 14-9 in the fourth. T-town led 16-10 after five innings and finished out with the 17-14 victory. Abigail Wortman made a diving play up the middle for the second out of the final inning and Probst got the final out on a strikeout.

Probst had seven strikeouts in the game for the win. Piedra finshed with five stolen bases and went four-for-five at the plate. Courtney Gibson drew three walks. Isabelle Hemmen went three-for-three with three singles.
