Women's Softball League -- June 29

Ping's/Bud Light claimed a doubleheader over Koerner Miller Lite in Women's Fastpitch Softball League action Thursday.

In the opener, Miller Lite took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Ping's moved ahead with two in the sixth and that's where the scoring ended at 2-1.

Ping's had only three hits, a double by M. Walsh and singles by Wohltman and Mansur. Woltman had an RBI.

Miller Lite was led by Will with a single and triple and Dowling with a single and double.

Mansur was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts. May suffered the loss with 10 strikeouts.

In the second contest, Ping's won 4-3. All the runs for both teams came in the seventh inning.

Again Ping's had only three hits led by A. Borries with a triple and two RBI.

Miller Lite was led by Duda with a home run and two RBI and Dowling with a single and double.

K. Borries picked up the pitching win, striking out 10. May suffered the loss, striking out 11.
