Girls Prep, Minor Leagues -- June 19

Crossroads Bank downed Joe's Pizza & Pasta 11-9 in Girls Prep Softball League action Monday at Evergreen Hollow Park.

Crossroads trailed Joe's 7-4 after the first inning but came back with a six-run second and tallied a final run in the third.

Lexi McCoy was the winning pitcher while Peyton Garrard picked up the save.

Garrard had two singles for the winners.

Lily Waymoth led Joe's with two singles and an RBI.

In the second contest, Joe's Pizza & Pasta came back strong by pounding Fonner Oral Surgery 21-10. Joe's tallied five in the first and had a 16-run second inning.

Joe's had 13 hits led by Waymoth with three singles and two RBI, Allyson Doedtman with three singles and two RBI and Jennifer Jackson with two singles and two RBI.

Fonner had three hits, all singles by Kaylee Borton, Taelyln Gillman and Anna Zaccari. Gillman added two RBI.

Minor League

Spectrum Screen Graphics edged Dieterich Bank 9-8 in Girls Minor Softball League action at Evergreen Hollow Park Monday.

Spectrum took a 3-0 first inning lead. Dieterich Bank pulled within 3-2 in the second but Spectrum tallied six more in the bottom of the frame. Dieterich Bank mounted a comeback with six runs in the top of the third but couldn't make up the first two innings by Spectrum.

Ellie Link had two singles for the winners.

Ella Macklin had two singles for Dieterich Bank.

In the second game, Chesnut Family Music took an 11-8 win over Bahrn's Equipment.

Chesnut edged out to a 6-3 opening inning lead but Bahrns tallied five to lead 8-6 in the second. Chesnut then responded with five runs in the third for the win.

Taylor Sidwell and Jackie Niebrugge had two singles each for the winners.

Emma Newlin had two singles for Bahrn's.
